How To Set Android 6.0 Marshmallow Default USB Connection Mode

Android 6.0 Marshmallow was the latest version of android before the arrival of version 7.0 Nougat, however most devices both high and low still run on the 6.0 version of the Android OS. Setting up your device to connect with your PC can be stressful sometimes because it keeps going back to charge only even after you had selected the File Transfer option before.
How to set a default usb mode for android marshmallow

This is not a fault on your phone rather it is how android marshmallow was programmed.
If you don't want to keep selecting the file transfer or any other option each time you connect your phone to a computer, you can set your preferred choice as default on your device with this simple procedure.
How to Set a default USB connection on Android 6.0

• Go to Settings > About Phone
• Continuously click on Build Number until "you are now a developer" message appears
• Go back and click on Developer Options
• Click on the switch on the top left to turn it on
• Scroll to "Select USB Configuration" under Networking and click on it to select your preferred option.

• Connect your phone to PC and see that your preferred option is now used by default.

Note: On some phones, USB Charging would still be shown as the USB option selected on your phone when you connect it to PC, you don't have to worry because the option you selected on the USB configuration is the one that the computer would use.
