Qualcomm Adds New Snapdragon 660 And Snapdragon 630 SoCs

Two new processors have been added to Qualcomm's collection of mobile processors, these are the Snapdragon 660 and the Snapdragon 630 which are to succeed the older Snapdragon 653 and 626 SoCs.

Review Of Latest Snapdragon SoCs

The two new processors have their bright sides with both of them based on a 14nm technology.
The Snapdragon 660 however has a an Octacore Kryo 260 CPU clocked at 2.2Ghz making it the first Snapdragon 600-series to have a Kyro CPU. The GPU is an Adreno 512, which is about 30% better than that of the 653 processor.
Snapdragon 660 Specifications
It has support for all mobile features including WiFi with over 500Mps download speed and 867Mps at the peak, 4K video capture, QHD Display, Spectra 160 ISP, QuickCharge 4.0, All-Ways Aware, Bluetooth 5.0 and support for all Qualcomm extensions.
It uses the latest Snapdragon X12 LTE Modem making it superfast in processing internet tasks and downloading of files, In general it is about 35% faster than the previous Snapdragon 653 and also supports more features.

The Snapdragon 630 on the other hand is an improved Snapdragon 626 and as expected is faster than the later.
It uses an Eight-core Cortex-A53 CPU clocked at 2.2Ghz and is 10% faster than it's predecessor, it uses an Adreno 508 GPU which provides better graphics management with a 30% speed increase to the Snapdragon 626.
Snapdragon 630 Specifications
Just as the 660 SoC, it also supports the powerful Snapdragon X12 LTE Modem for fast superfast internet. It also supports QuickCharge 4.0, Bluetooth 5.0, USB 3.1, 4K video capture, Qualcomm Hexagon 642 DSP and Aqstic audio codec, All-Ways Aware, 1080 display support and many more.

The Snapdragon 660 processor would be available on new devices very soon, same thing applies to the Snapdragon 630 though the 660 processor would ship before it.
However you should expect these SoCs on future flagship devices by major brands like Samsung, LG, Motorola or it may be used on the next Nexus phone, who knows.
